About

The Ancient Greek Theater in the Digital Age conference aims to investigate the potential and limits of the digital instrument for the study of Greek theater, with particular reference to experiences undertaken, project proposals and research perspectives related to:

digital critical editions of theatrical texts, including fragmentary ones, and of ancient scholii to theatrical texts, in the context of the debate on textual criticism and digital philology;
dynamic, collaborative and open access analyzes of theatrical texts and new paradigms of textuality, authorship and accessibility in the digital age;
digital archives of manuscripts, printed editions and modern representations of Greek theater; online lexicons of Greek theater; theatrical database of archaeological and epigraphic materials; online repertoires of scenic objects and costumes; virtual reconstructions of stage equipment and theatrical buildings;
telematic didactic strategies for the study of Greek theater, starting from the experiences actually gained by the scientific and academic community during the ongoing health emergency.

Call for Papers

Application procedure

To participate in the works of Ancient Greek Theater in the Digital Age as speakers, it is necessary to send an email by the deadline of 5 July 2020 to [email protected] containing:

subject: "Bari widespread conference application";
attachments (pdf format):

anonymous title and abstract (max. 300 words) in Italian and English and scope of the proposed intervention (a. digital critical editions; b. dynamic analysis; c. archives and repertoires; d. teaching);
short curriculum vitae (Italian and English) which contains the indication of the home university, the main titles and publications (max. 300 words).

The result of the selection of the applications received, made by the Scientific Committee, will be communicated by the Organizing Committee by 20 July.

The interventions may be held in Italian, English or French for a maximum duration of 30 minutes.

The organizing committee plans to publish the conference proceedings. The publication will be examined by the Scientific Committee and subject to the blind peer-review process .
