Aim and Scope

Over the last six decades Ambix has published articles relating to early modern chemistry, the Chemical Revolution, the impact of atomism, the rise of organic chemistry, and the development of the chemical sciences in the twentieth century. In the field of alchemy it has likewise published a wide range of articles on such diverse themes as the origins of Greek alchemy, Islamic alchemy, Paracelsus, John Dee, and Newton"s alchemical interests.

Ambix welcomes high-quality submissions based on original research in these and other areas, and while the Editor would like to be able to strike a balance between the history of alchemy and chemistry in terms of space within each volume this is not always possible.
