Folia Histochemica et Cytobiologica was established in 1963 under the title: "Folia Histochemica et Cytochemica" by the Polish Histochemical and Cytochemical Society as an international, English-language journal devoted to the rapidly developing fields of histochemistry, cytochemistry and cell biology.
