VCIP has a long tradition in showcasing pioneering technologies in visual communication and processing, and many landmark papers first appeared in VCIP. We will carry on this tradition of VCIP in disseminating the state of art of visual communication technology, brainstorming and envisioning the future of visual communication technology and applications. The main theme would be new media, including VR, point cloud capture and playback, and new visual processing tools including deep learning for intelligence distilling in visual information pre- and post-processing such as de-blurring, super resolution, 3D understanding, and content based image enhancement. The topics in VCIP 2022 will cover but not limited to the following items. - Emerging Techniques for Next Generation Video/Image Coding - Point Cloud Capture and Compression - Compression for Machine Vision - Image/Video Security and Privacy - Advanced Techniques for Emerging Stereo and Multi-view Videos - 3D reconstruction from monocular views - Visual Communications - Visual Processing Embedded Systems and Architecture Implementations - Cloud Multimedia Systems, Applications and Services - Multimedia Content Analysis, Representation, and Understanding - Machine learning for Multimedia - Multimedia and Multimodal User Interfaces and Interaction Models - Multimedia Networking, Multimedia Traffic Management - Efficient and Massively Scalable Multimedia Service Distribution, Multimedia - Delivery, Multimedia Broadcasting - Mobile Multimedia, Wireless Multimedia Communications - Low Delay and Multipath Video Communication over 5G networks - Emerging applications leveraging 5G networks Paper Submission: Prospective authors should submit full-length papers of 4 pages in two column IEEE format, including author affiliation and address, figures, tables and references, to the paper submission website. Only electronic submissions written in English are accepted. Paper submission implies the intent of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper, if accepted.
