Dear Colleagues, The Earth systems consist of land, ocean, biosphere, cryosphere and atmosphere. These Earth systems interact each other. With the growing population and human activities, different Earth systems behave differently and the coupling among these systems are becoming more complex with human activities and sun interactions. With the growing interactions, different elements of the Earth systems are being polluted and associated natural hazards are frequently observed in different parts of the world. The environment is being degraded, resources are depleting and the ecological balance is being disturbed and raise questions of sustainability. This Special Issue in “Urban Remote Sensing” invites contributions related to land–water–air–biosphere–cryosphere interactions, land use/land cover, degrading resources, ecological balance, impact of growing pollution on natural resources, increasing population, resources and environment, food securities, water resources, depletion of snow/glaciers, increasing frequency of natural hazards and impacts on environment and ecological balance, modelling studies, and how to make our planet sustainable.
