Call for Papers: https://comlab.uniroma3.it/CSNDSP2024/CSNDSP_logo2.pngSpecial Session on Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces for Communications and Sensing @CSNDSP2024, 17-19 July 2024 - Rome, ITALY Website: https://comlab.uniroma3.it/CSNDSP2024.php We are pleased to announce a special session dedicated to the advancements and applications of Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS) in the field of communications, localization, and sensing. This session, which will be held at the 14th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks and Digital Signal Processing (CSNDSP), aims to bring together researchers to share and discuss the latest developments, challenges, and opportunities in this rapidly evolving domain. === Scope of the Session ================================================================ Reconfigurable Intelligent surfaces (aka. metasurfaces), based on planar antenna arrays, are an old concept experiencing a revival. Technological advancements allowing for large arrays tuned for high frequencies, and on edge platforms to implement their real-time digital control makes these devices more viable than ever. More importantly, RISs are promising candidates to fulfill the envisioned capabilities of 5G and 6G networks for smart-radios, capable of integrating efficient communications, sensing, and network adaptability based on fast changing requirements. Not only can these devices be the key to meeting these requirements, but they will likely allow for entirely new RF based applications. === Topics of Interest ================================================================== We invite authors to submit original and unpublished contributions on the following research topics related to Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces for Communications, Localization, and Sensing: - Antenna Design from Microwave to Sub-Thz - Antenna Measurement - Joint/Integrated Communications and Sensing - Vision-Aided Communications - Near-Field Communications - Meta-surface Design - Reconfigurable Technology - Directional Communications on Reconfigurable Surfaces - Vision-Aided Communications - Near-Field Communications - Meta-surface Design - Reconfigurable Technology - Directional Communications on Reconfigurable Surfaces === Submission Guidelines ============================================================== Authors are invited to submit papers that are IEEE Xplore compatible in A4 format. The length of final paper should be from 2 to 6 pages. All papers will receive at least three reviews. Only papers presented at the conference will be published in IEEE-Xplore. Submissions should be original, unpublished work that addresses one or more of the specified research topics. Submissions will undergo a peer-review process to ensure the quality and relevance of accepted papers.
