About |
The 1st International Workshop on Games for Software Engineering Education and Training (SE-Games) is co-located with CSEE&T 2020 in Munich, Germany (July 28 to 31, 2020). Game-based environments have been proven to be a useful way to mediate and improve practical and problem-solving skills as well as to motivate learners by providing a playful and interactive environment. Especially for complex and/or tedious activities, educational games are a promising way to foster the learning process. Thus, by now, more and more educators and trainers seek to integrate games and gamification mechanisms into teaching and training for software engineering. However, in this endeavor they are often confronted with obstacles in terms of open questions on how to design or apply games to address certain levels of competence or motivate certain target groups, or how to use them in combination with other teaching and/or development activities. The SE-Games workshop seeks to serve as a platform for researchers and practitioners from the fields of software engineering, SE teaching and training as well as game development, who share the goal to improve the methods of teaching and training software engineering by designing and applying game-based environments such as serious games, game-based learning and gamification. |
Call for Papers |
SE-Games 2020 addresses researchers, SE practitioners, game designers and developers, lecturers, educators and trainers, allied in the endeavor to improve learning and training of software-engineering practices by applying game-based environments. In particular, the SE-Games workshop calls for contributions focused on, but not limited to the following topics:
The workshop solicits for submissions in 4 paper categories: Short Papers, Position Papers, and Experience Reports, each up to 4 pages IEEE, to be published in the joint IEEE CSEE&T conference proceedings. In addition, also Extended Abstracts (1 page IEEE, presented as Poster or Talk, but not published) are accepted. For further details, also see the Submission Guidelines. Paper submission via EasyChair: will be provided |
