Considering the environmental concerns, a switch towards renewable material resources should be taken into consideration to promote sustainable development. One possible solution is a stronger implementation of the use of eco-friendly polymer formulations, based on biopolymers. Biopolymers can offer attractive alternatives as long as
their synthesis and characterization can be easily tailored for technological applications.

We cordially ask you to consider submitting your next research paper to this thematic issue. In order for us to plan for the whole project, please let us know within two weeks as to whether you would be willing to contribute. We sincerely hope that this invitation will receive your favorable consideration.
