As machine learning algorithms aim to revolutionize various fields, for example, healthcare, finance, and transportation, it is crucial to delve into their theoretical foundations while exploring their real-world applications. This Special Issue aims to promote intellectual exchange and highlight the latest advances and limitations in the theoretical and application aspects of machine learning. We invite researchers, academics, and experts in the field to submit original research articles concerning the following topics. Topics - theoretical advances in machine learning algorithms - deep-learning theory - new approaches to deep learning: architectures, optimizers, and training pipelines - statistical learning theory and its implications - explainable artificial intelligence and interpretability in machine learning - machine learning for natural language processing and understanding - reinforcement learning and its applications - continual learning methods and model recalibration - learning by transfer and domain adaptation - scalable and efficient machine learning algorithms - machine learning applications in healthcare, finance, robotics, and other fields - robustness and fairness in machine learning MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION INFORMATION Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website. Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
