CALL FOR CHAPTER PROPOSALS
Proposal Submission Deadline: May 18, 2023 Management, Technology, and Economic Growth in Smart and Sustainable Cities A book edited by Jorge A. Ruiz-Vanoye (Universidad Politécnica de Pachuca) Introduction A smart sustainable city is an innovative city that uses ICTs and other means to improve quality of life, efficiency of urban operation and services, and competitiveness, while ensuring that it meets the needs of present and future generations with respect to economic, social, environmental as well as cultural aspects. Objective of the Book In this book we seek practical contributions on the management and administration of smart and sustainable cities containing mathematical modelling, Artificial Intelligence, or Technology related to the optimal management of the economy, agriculture, environment, society, and other aspects of cities. This book will be the basis for the understanding and advanced and optimal management of smart and sustainable cities. With this reference book you will learn how to identify or achieve international recognition of a city as a smart and sustainable city, as well as the most advanced topics that enable optimal management of cities. Target Audience The target audience of this book will be composed of professionals and researchers working in the field of Smart and Sustainable Cities in various disciplines, e.g. Smart government, Smart healthcare, Smart education, Smart Farming, Smart environment, Smart life, and others. Moreover, the book will provide insights and support executives concerned with the management of expertise, knowledge, information and organizational development in different types of work communities and environments. Recommended topics include, but are not limited to, the following: • Smart government (Smart Open Data, smart management of the economy, smart infrastructure, Smart tourism, E-administration, international trade, online justice online, tax administration and e-procurement, Virtual parliament and electronic voting). • Smart energy. • Smart healthcare. • Smart transportation or Intelligent Transportation System (Advanced Transportation Management Systems, Advanced Transportation Pricing Systems, Advanced Public Transportation Systems, and Advanced Traveller Information Systems). • Smart building / smart home. • Smart mobility. • Smart society / smart people / smart digital citizens. • Smart education. • Affinity for lifelong learning: home schooling (home education), adult education, continuing education, knowledge work and personal learning environments. Learning can be through massive open online courses (MOOC), assistive technology, the Web and workplace learning. • Smart production of foods / smart farming (Agriculture, livestock and fisheries). • Smart industry / smart manufacturing. • Smart environment: (minimise the cost of management) Air (smart Air), water (smart water) and waste (smart waste). • Smart life: smart age-friendly, smart security (safe city includes digital security, health security, security infrastructure, personal safety, smart sports), cultural facilities, and social cohesion. • Smart sustainable city. Submission Procedure Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before May 1, 2023, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by May 15, 2023 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines.Full chapters are expected to be submitted by July 17, 2023, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project. Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Management, Technology, and Economic Growth in Smart and Sustainable Cities. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process. All proposals should be submitted through the eEditorial Discovery® online submission manager.
