23rd International Database Engineering & Applications Symposium IDEAS 2019 will be hosted by Harokopio University, June 10-12, 2019 Athens, Greece Call for Track Papers:On the Classic Case Pattern Mining This track forms part of the annual IDEAS conference: a top international forum for data engineering researchers, practitioners, developers, and application users to explore revolutionary ideas and results, and to exchange techniques, tools, and experiences. Scope In the big data science, classic case pattern mining is fundamental to many other mining applications, e.g., association rule mining, causation mining. etc. The classic case mining is originally the itemset mining. It is so called classic is because of the classic dataset it used with the following three characteristics: each element in each tuple of the dataset is unique and atomic, the dataset is de-semantic, and the dataset is static. The classic case mining is the simplest mining, thus the sound solution for it is of fundamental importance, otherwise we do not have the base to deal with more complex mining problems. However, the fact is, although thousands of research articles have been published in more than a quarter of a century till now, no reliable mining solution has been established, and the problems of overfitting, probability anomaly, improper pattern generation mode and so on are widely exhibiting in previous mining approaches. It is thus imperative to build up a rational, reliable and sound theory for the mining first. Topics Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following. • the proper pattern frequentness measure; • the proper pattern generation mode and its implementation; • the pattern frequency distribution theory; • the definition and measures of overfitting and underfitting; • the reliability theory and measures for the mining methods and mining results. Submission for the track All paper submission for IDEAS’2019 and its tracks would be via the corresponding pages on ConfSys. Authors should sign up as user of the system at: https://confsys.encs.concordia.ca/ConfSys/jsp/index.jsp When submitting a paper, for a track pl. select the appropriate track unless you are submitting to the main event (indicated by "General Pool"). The papers submitted for a track would be reviewed by the program committee aided by the members of this track committee. The accepted papers would be presented during IDEAS 2019 and would be included in the proceedings of IDEAS 2019. Please consult the guides given in the right hand margin for FAQ, submission guidelines etc. on the home page of IDEAS 2019: http://confsys.encs.concordia.ca/IDEAS/ideas19/ideas19.phps Important Dates April 12, 2019: Papers submission deadline: ++plus grace period May 2, 2019: Notification of acceptance May 25, 2019: Camera-ready deadline (Final Version of accepted submissions) Conference Publication The conference proceedings will be published by ACM in their digital library and indexed by them; the ISBN assigned by ACM to IDEAS'2019 is: 978-1-4503-6249-8 ACM allows choice in the copyrights/licence and open access according to their policy.
