INTERDISCIPLINARIRY
|
Call for Papers |
Working in an interdisciplinary manner is a long time pursued, but a difficult goal of science and mathematics education. Interdisciplinarity in science and mathematics can occur when connections between those disciplines are identified and developed, for example, through a theme that have the potential to mobilized knowledge or procedures from both. These connections could be expressed in the educational policies, curriculum, or in the science and mathematics teachers’ educational practices, when they create common educational resources and deliver instruction in co-teaching, for example. Sometimes those connections are scarce, but in other moments full integration is achieved. Contributors for this book will have the opportunity to present results of good practices and interdisciplinary educational approaches in science and mathematics. This book aims to present a broad range of approaches for all educational levels, from kindergarten to university.
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before May 15, 2022, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by June 4, 2022 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines.Full chapters are expected to be submitted by August 1, 2022, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project. This book is focused on relevant topics regarding interdisciplinarity between science and mathematics in education, such as: educational policies that promote interdisciplinarity between science and mathematics • curriculum connections between science and mathematics • co-teaching experiences between teachers of science and mathematics • educational methodologies used to explore connections between science and mathematics • digital educational resources and technologies used in science and mathematics teaching • STEAM approaches used for teaching and learning science and mathematics topics • specific work proposals that connect science and mathematics themes or topics • strategies to evaluate students’ performance on situations with connections between science and mathematics • teacher education’ interdisciplinarity practices between science and mathematics • preparing preservice teachers to provide connections between science and mathematics. Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Interdisciplinarity Between Science and Mathematics in Education. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process. All proposals should be submitted through the eEditorial Discovery® online submission manager. |
