**ACTNext hosts symposium focused on education research & technological innovation**

On October 9-10, 2019, ACTNext will hold its annual Education Technology and Computational Psychometrics Symposium (ETCPS) at the Coralville Marriott Hotel & Conference Center in Coralville, IA, as an opportunity for participants to engage with experts in education research, assessment, and edtech start-ups on the challenges and opportunities within the educational realm.

At this event, participants will be able to join discussions with leading practitioners and researchers within the academic and technology fields and learn about the breakthroughs in psychometrics research.

Visit the 2019 ETCPS website to learn more. http://etcps.actnext.info/2019/

In conjunction with ETCPS, ACTNext is accepting submissions for a limited number of poster presentations and technology demonstrations aligned with our three program tracks.

Submission Guidelines:
Finalists will be selected by a panel of experts. Tech demos and posters will be presented at the end of the first day during the evening reception.

Papers and Posters that have already been published may also be considered.

Accepted projects (papers, posters and tech demos) will be notified by rolling review or by Sept. 13 (at the latest).

Accepted projects will need to confirm attendance and send slide deck, digital materials and/or technical requirements by Sept. 20.

Submissions are allowed in the following formats:

Technology Demonstrations - There is limited space for technology demonstrations. These may include any variety of types, including Virtual and Augmented Reality experiences, mobile applications, Software as a Service (SaaS) platforms, or other educational or relevant technology. Please include technical requirements necessary to demonstrate your system.

Posters (Paper) - Standard paper poster, dimensions of 3'H x 4'W. Easels and folding cardboard backs for mounting will be provided for stand-up presentations.
(Accepted posters must be printed by the submitter and brought along to the event.)
Note: We encourage paper poster submissions to use this template based on the #betterposter format. Read more about the #betterposter here or watch Mike Morrison's video "How to create a better research poster in less time (including templates)."

Posters (Digital) - Digital "posters" may be presented in a variety of formats such as powerpoint or short videos. This is an opportunity to present your work in a format that is not a standard 3'x4' academic poster. Monitors, power and network connectivity can be provided at the venue.

Categories for submissions are:

Classroom Implementation – Submit proposals geared toward bringing education technology into classrooms. Presentations incorporating opportunities, challenges, and outcomes of these implementations are highly encouraged.

Emerging Technology – Submit your research or tech demo focusing on technology aimed toward digitizing the classroom, learning & assessment experiences, and academic and career navigation.

Novel Research – We will consider a wide range of relevant work, ranging from psychometric models and simulation studies, to data mining and artificial intelligence among others. Papers and posters that have already been published will also be considered.

Contact: All questions about submissions should be emailed to [email protected] and please include "ETCPS 2019 Research Reception" in the subject line.
