Call for Papers

Join the DevSecCon24 lineup and share your insights, best practices, and real-world experiences with the global DevSecOps community. Whether this is your first speaking proposal or you are a seasoned conference veteran, we want to hear and learn from your DevSecOps experiences. We're seeking talks in secure development and operations, cloud security, threat modeling, and other related areas to inspire, educate, and engage our audience. If you have a passion for security and a story to tell, we want to hear from you.

CFP Opens - 27th March 2023

CFP Closes - 10 May 2023

Speakers notified by mid May 2022

We are looking for proposals in the following areas:

- AI for DevSecOps engineers | Talks on how AI can be used to automate security testing and analysis, identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities in real-time, monitor compliance, and provide recommendations for improving security culture and education programs for DevSecOps engineers.
- Threat modeling and risk assessment | Talks on identifying and assessing security risks in software development and operations processes can help attendees proactively secure their systems. AI can be leveraged to automate threat modeling and risk assessment, making the process faster and more accurate.
- Secure coding practices | Talks on secure coding practices can help developers write code that is less vulnerable to attacks and exploits.
- Security automation and tooling | Talks on security automation and tooling can help attendees streamline security processes and improve effectiveness.
- Cloud security | Talks on best practices for securing cloud-based systems and applications can be especially valuable as more organizations move to the cloud.
- Compliance and regulatory issues | Talks on compliance and regulatory issues can help attendees ensure their security efforts align with relevant legal requirements.
- Incident response and threat hunting | Talks on incident response and threat hunting can help attendees develop effective security incident response plans.
- Security culture and education | Talks on developing a security-focused culture within organizations can help attendees foster a culture of security.

Session Formats

You can submit proposals for one of the following:

Keynote (40 min) - Inspiring and thought-provoking session.
Conference session (25 mins + 5 min live Q&A) – On a range of different technologies, practices and methodologies.
Lightning Talk (15min) - Sessions designed for speakers to give a quickfire view of a particular subject

**Note**

Please provide a detailed abstract. Abstracts that do not clearly define the talk or are less than a paragraph will not be considered.
Abstracts that are vague and do not include in-depth details will not be considered.
Provide your top three (3) key takeaways for attendees.
Absolutely no vendor pitches: Many of our most successful talks are by people who sell products in the same area they’re speaking about. If your talk is focused on promoting or selling your product, it’s a bad fit for DevSecCon.

Diverse Backgrounds

If the DevSecOps industry hasn't included you or others like you, please include this in your proposal. We want to make a space for the perspectives of people that are underrepresented in or excluded from technology: people of color, women, LGBTQ people, people with disabilities, students, and many more.

Code of Conduct

All speakers must adhere to the DevSecCon code of conduct.

DevSecCon is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any conference venue, including talks. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organisers.

Any form of written, social media, or verbal communication that can be offensive or harassing to any attendee, speaker or staff is not allowed at DevSecCon. Please inform a DevSecCon staff member if you feel a violation has taken place and the management team will address the situation. Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately. We expect participants to follow these rules at all conference venues (virtual or in person) and conference-related social events.
