Introduction
In a time of precipitous change due to rapid technological advancements, evolving workplace structures, and a global shift towards remote work, the nature of work is undergoing a profound transformation influencing communication, work dynamics, and learning process (Murdoch & Fichter, 2017; Tang & Salamzadeh, 2023). As we stand at this critical junction, revitalising the skills is no longer just a matter of staying relevant but a necessity, especially with the growing prevalence of work-skill misalignment and employability skills gaps (Nair et al., 2020; Donald et al., 2023; Holidi & Seman 2023). This major shift has highlighted the importance for educational institutions worldwide to prepare students for the digital world by providing them with advanced knowledge and essential skills (Mariah & Sari; 2019; McCarthy, 2019; Dean, 2023; Kilag et al., 2023; Urhan, 2023). How can educators strategically and proactively navigate and harness the inherent challenges and advantages in revitalising skills, aligning with the dynamic demands of the contemporary work environment, and shaping a future workforce for the evolving landscape of work?’ The book “Revitalizing Student Skills to Meet Demands of Future Work”, delves into the intricacies of the evolving and complex professional landscape, unravelling multifaceted challenges and opportunities while emphasizing the pivotal role these skills play in shaping the workforce of tomorrow.
