Call for Chapters Proposals Submission Deadline: April 25, 2019 Full Chapters Due: May 25, 2019 Submission Date: September 2, 2019 Introduction Exploring online learning through the lens of synchronous and asynchronous instructional methods can be beneficial to the online instructor and to the course designer. Understanding the underlying theoretical foundation is essential to justify both types of instructional pedagogies. Learning theory as it applies to online environments encompasses a myriad of techniques and practices. This book will inform the practitioner, course designer, or online educator of the research and the reasons why these instructional pedagogies are critical to the design and implementation of the contemporary online course. Objective The goal of this chaptered book is to inform online instructors, instructional designers, and curriculum developers of the benefits of each model of instruction, using both synchronous and asynchronous instruction. Book chapters will include relevant research with a contemporary view about these instructional medium. Authors will be notified by May 10, 2019 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted on or before May 25, 2019, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at http://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.
