Proposals Submission Deadline: February 20, 2022 Full Chapters Due: April 21, 2022 Submission Date: April 21, 2022 Introduction This book will examine changing trends in accounting education as a result of changing technology and impacts of an increasingly digitized world in the areas of CPA exam preparation, online delivery of content, Big data and auditing in education, data analytics and gaming. Each subject area will be examined in terms of trends in the accounting industry in a post-COVID world, how the trend is addressed in accounting education, advantages and disadvantages of the current method of addressing the trend in accounting education, criticisms, and best practices as well as what the future holds. Each topic should include detailed applications, examples, and proposed case studies to demonstrate the research. Objective The objective of this book is to provide an update to educators on the changing trends in accounting and accounting education in a digitized world. This book will also provide a link between educators and practitioners to evaluate if accounting education is keeping the pace with technological changes within the accounting industry. This link will provide educators with the information they need to improve accounting education to meet the demands of practitioners. It will provide practitioners with an overview of what is being done to meet their needs, and provide them with a conversation starter with the colleges and universities that supply them with accountants. The strength of the accounting industry begins with education and providing this comprehensive link to the educational and practitioner members of the industry and extending the research in this area are valuable ways to contribute to the integrity of the industry as a whole. |
