Proposals Submission Deadline: March 17, 2022 Full Chapters Due: April 30, 2022 Introduction Artificial intelligence and robotics have boomed in the 21st century. Along with other disciplines, such as mathematics, nanotechnology, biotechnology, quantum computing, and the Internet of Things, radical changes are on the horizon towards the era of the fourth industrial revolution (4IR). These emerging and disruptive technologies are immersed in our lives, from apps in mobile devices, the purchases we make on the Internet, streaming platforms, even court decisions and predictive policing, among others. Together with science and certain needs, relevant implementations of artificial intelligence and robotics arise, related to its transparency, resulting in biases, the kinds of applications that can be implemented, the degree of workforce replacement - including in creative activities - in decision-making assistance. For this reason, some of the questions that this book attempts to answer are related to: • What are the most widely used artificial intelligence techniques worldwide? • What are the applications of artificial intelligence, automation, and robotics in different sectors? • How do black-box algorithms work, and what are their results? • What are the implications of the use of artificial intelligence and robotics for society and welfare? • What are the benefits and advantages of artificial intelligence and robotics for nations? Among others. The book aims to present the state of the art on artificial intelligence and robotics in different fields of knowledge, its benefits, applications, and implications. Theoretical and practical chapter proposals will be accepted. Studies on the application of artificial intelligence in areas such as robotics, Big Data, social media, health, economics, government, and politics are welcome. In addition, innovative proposals of intelligent algorithms, mathematical models, quantum computing, and cognitive machines. Also, analyses on the transparency and explainability of artificial intelligence in different fields are welcome, as well as the analysis of unexpected results, biases, or cases of discrimination. Objective The purpose of this book is to describe the state of the art of artificial intelligence and robotics in different fields of knowledge, its benefits, applications, and potential consequences. The impact of the book is that it will address contemporary and relevant topics on artificial intelligence and robotics for different sectors, providing a multidisciplinary overview of AI research and practice. Key issues concerning both the AI applications, robotics, and explainability will be discussed, drawing on a variety of methodologies, techniques, applications, theoretical frameworks, and empirical cases, in order to capture the unique phenomena triggered by the increasing adoption of AI. Target Audience This book will provide a wide audience of researchers with an overview of the state of the art of research on Applied Artificial Intelligence, and with an understanding of the possible future evolution in the design, implementation, management, and use of AI. The audience of this book includes: ● Researchers and Practitioners in Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, Information Technology, computer science, mathematics, and some other AI-related areas. ● University Students and Professors from different disciplines. Recommended Topics -Theoretical frameworks on the application of artificial intelligence in government. -State-of-the-art AI techniques in government. -Use of artificial intelligence techniques in government. -Empirical cases or studies of the use of artificial intelligence, automation, and robotics in the public sector. -Explainability of artificial intelligence for the public sector. -Artificial intelligence and robotics application in government. -Government decision-making based artificial intelligence and robotics. -Unintended consequences and implications of artificial intelligence and robotics in government. -Applied artificial intelligence to finance, economics, the public sector, healthcare, public education, among other areas. -Artificial intelligence potential, along with other emerging technologies, for the fourth industrial revolution (4IR). Submission Procedure Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before March 17, 2022, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by March 19, 2022 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines.Full chapters are expected to be submitted by April 30, 2022, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project. Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Applied Artificial Intelligence and Robotics for Government Processes. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process. All proposals should be submitted through the eEditorial Discovery® online submission manager.
