Introduction

The rapid emergence of cloud computing and the Internet of Things (IoT) has transformed our technological landscape, offering unprecedented convenience and connectivity. Cloud computing provides on-demand access to vast computing resources, while IoT connects various devices, creating a complex network of interconnections. However, these advancements also introduce significant security challenges. The widespread adoption of cloud services and the growth of IoT devices increase the potential for attacks, compromising privacy and data integrity. Security breaches can have severe consequences for individuals, organizations, and critical infrastructures, necessitating robust security measures. Addressing these challenges requires a comprehensive approach involving security architectures, encryption, access controls, authentication protocols, and intrusion detection systems.

Objective

This book aims to explore the challenges, strategies, and cutting-edge technologies associated with securing cloud-based IoT systems, including but not limited to authentication and access control, data protection, privacy concerns, threat detection and prevention, secure communication protocols, risk assessment, and key management. We seek chapters that delve into practical approaches, case studies, experimental evaluations, and theoretical frameworks, offering practical guidance and in-depth analysis of the latest trends in securing the Cloud and IoT ecosystems.

Target Audience

Prospective contributors are encouraged to submit original chapters that present novel research, innovative methodologies, practical implementations, or insightful reviews of the existing state-of-the-art in the field. We invite researchers, practitioners, and experts from both academia and industry to contribute their insights and expertise to this comprehensive compilation of best practices and emerging solutions in cloud and IoT security. The book aims to serve as a reference for researchers, students, professionals, and policymakers interested in understanding the challenges and advancements in securing the Cloud and IoT.

Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before July 5, 2023, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by July 19, 2023 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by November 2, 2023, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.

Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Emerging Technologies for Securing the Cloud and IoT. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process.
