WoT4H 2020 : 1st International Workshop on the Web of Things for Humans

During the last few years the deployment of smart devices has been massive. This trend is expected to continue and even increase over the next few years. However, this deployment has also been fostered by specific companies creating closed environments. The WoT and IoT paradigms were conceived to make people’s life easier by integrating different services and adapting them to their needs and preferences. In these closed environments, this integration and adaptation becomes difficult or even impossible to achieve, greatly limiting the benefits of these paradigms. 

This integration poses some questions that need further discussion from researchers: How devices from different manufacturers can be integrated? How the data sensed/stored in different devices can be integrated? How that information can be used to identify the users’ preferences or their activities? How this information could be used to adapt the smart devices’ behaviour? 

WoT4H will be a forum for academics, industrial researchers, developers, and practitioners to discuss challenges and advances in the Internet of Things and Web of Things. This edition will be specially focused on “The Web of Things for Humans”, improving the interoperability and adaptation of smart devices to Humans. It is also especially relevant for the workshop the application of these paradigms and problems in real environments and situations, such as smart transportation, pollution, smart tourism, well-being, etc.

WoT4H 2020 : 1st International Workshop on the Web of Things for Humans will take place in Helsinki, Finland. It’s a 1 day event starting on Jun 09, 2020 (Tuesday) and will be winded up on Jun 09, 2020 (Tuesday).

WoT4H 2020 falls under the following areas: WEB OF THINGS, INTERNET OF THINGS, SEMANTIC WEB, etc. Submissions for this Workshop can be made by Apr 01, 2020. Authors can expect the result of submission by May 01, 2020. Upon acceptance, authors should submit the final version of the manuscript on or before May 14, 2020 to the official website of the Workshop.
