About

First Cracow Cognitive Science Conference (CCSC) was organised in 2007. It’s main idea was, and still is, to contribute to the development of cognitive science as a whole, by providing an opportunity to broaden one’s intellectual horizons. CCSC has thus come to life to provide a space to share knowledge among those interested in the field of cognitive science and discuss the most important current topics. Through years 2007 - 2012 the conference was organised in every subsequent year, hosting such scientists as prof. Włodzisław Duch or prof. Edward Nęcka who are considered to be one of the most renowned in Poland in the field of cognitive science. The Conference was withheld for the next two years, but in 2014 the Jagiellonian University’s Cognitive Science Student Association was established and since then it has been responsible for organizing the Conference.

Each year the conference focuses on a different topic, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of cognitive science. Last year’s edition focused on the topic of “Attention and Memory”. The key presenters were: prof. Juan Lupiañez (University of Granada), prof. Rob H. J. van der Lubbe (University Of Twente) and prof. Francesco Battaglia (Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen).
