Call for Chapters HANDBOOK OF RESEARCH ON NATURAL LANGUAGE PROCESSING AND SMART SERVICE SYSTEMS Proposals submission deadline: September 2, 2019 Full chapters deadline: November 25, 2019 Revised chapters deadline: March 12, 2020 INTRODUCTION Natural Language Processing (NLP) is a field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) whose purpose is to develop software applications that provide computers with the ability to understand human language. Although these software tools are currently not capable of understanding texts as humans do, companies are incorporating this type of applications for processing structured and unstructured data, generated in their businesses, social networks, or the Internet. Leading organizations (being aware of this fact) show increasing interest in developing smart solutions based on NLP to improve the experience of their users. These software tools become Smart Analytics applications, when they are enriched with machine learning algorithms and AI techniques, being capable of generating knowledge that can be crucial for decision making. This handbook aims at discussing and addressing the main strategies to integrate NLP in the development of Smart Analytics applications. The editors will seek chapters with the latest technological innovations in the field of NLP for service enhancement. This publication is expected to give professionals the edge by providing insights on how to build NLP-based Smart Business Services, as well as motivating researchers to continue contributing to this field. Additionally, the book will explore the impact of such strategies on real-world systems in both Industry 4.0 and Big Data environments. OBJECTIVE This comprehensive and timely publication aims at being an essential reference source, building on the scientific literature on the field of NLP and Smart Service Systems while providing opportunities for further research in this emerging and highly dynamic field of study. Also, this book will present the resources necessary for engineers, managers, and practitioners to adopt and implement algorithms and techniques when both structured and unstructured texts are processed. TARGET AUDIENCE Scholars and researchers will find this handbook useful in furthering their research exposure involving Business Intelligence or Machine Learning in NLP applications. Moreover, the book will provide insights to practitioners on how to improve business competitiveness through NLP and Smart Services. RECOMMENDED TOPICS Text Mining Systems Sentiment Analysis Suggestion Mining Natural Language Interfaces Question Answering Chatbots Recommender Systems Text Analytics Systems Information Retrieval Text Summarization Text Classification Advanced Dialog Systems Discourse Analysis Knowledge Representation and Reasoning SUBMISSION PROCEDURE Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit, on or before September 2, 2019, a chapter proposal of 500 to 1,500 words clearly explaining the purpose and relevance of his/her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by September 23, 2019 about the status of their proposals and will receive chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by November 25, 2019, and all interested authors must consult the instructions for manuscript submissions at http://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.
