Roman Ingarden and Our Times.
An International Philosophical Congress

Jagiellonian University in Kraków, 22-27 September 2020

The fiftieth anniversary of the death of the eminent Polish philosopher and humanist Roman Ingarden in 2020 is an occasion to launch an international academic debate on his philosophical legacy. Above all, however, it is a unique opportunity to initiate an international debate on current trends in contemporary philosophy. The main aim of the organisers is therefore to furnish an international group of researchers with a convenient space for a free and creative exchange of thoughts, ideas, and views.
The Parliament of the Republic of Poland, convinced of the uniqueness of the work and attitude of the philosopher, established 2020 as the Year of Roman Ingarden.
The Congress ‘Roman Ingarden and Our Times’ will be held 22‒27 September 2020 at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland.
The aim of the Congress is to bring together representatives of various fields of philosophy in order to explore contemporary perspectives on ontology, logic, epistemology, ethics, and aesthetics. The thematic scope of the Congress is not limited to phenomenological issues. The observation of the anniversary of the death of this Polish philosopher constitutes a contribution to the initiation of an international debate on current trends in philosophy.

Topics may include, but are not limited to:

• contemporary ontology
• contemporary logic
• contemporary epistemology
• contemporary ethics
• contemporary aesthetics

• feminist philosophy
• gender studies

• posthuman studies
• the philosophy of Roman Ingarden
